Cluster 4 of 9

4. Measurement

The biggest pain point of GEO is measurability. For a long time there was no official dashboard at all. That is starting to shift — since June 2026 Search Console reports impressions and clicks from generative Search features — but no standard tool tells you what is being said about your brand, whether you are recommended, and how you compare to competitors. A structured, repeatable in-house measurement methodology solves that — with metrics that are comparable over time and interpretable for decision-making.

This cluster covers the core metrics of GEO: mention and citation (separately), Share of Voice, sentiment, position in the answer, Narrative Share, and depth of the mention. Plus an honest page on what measurement structurally cannot tell you.

→ Start with “AI visibility metrics” for the overview, or jump straight to position and depth for what really counts.
