Privacy policy
Last updated: 16 August 2026
This policy explains how Groundbase processes personal data from visitors to this website and from people who contact us, and which cookies we use. It has been drafted in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian privacy law.
I. Who is responsible
The controller for the processing of personal data is:
Jan Van Hove, trading as Groundbase
Ruggeveldlaan 798, 2100 Antwerp, Belgium
Email: hello@groundbase.be
II. What data do we process
When you visit this site, we do not collect any data that identifies you as a person. We do measure how the site is used, with a measurement service that sets no cookies and builds no profile of you: which page was visited, which site you came from, which country the visit came from, and what type of device, browser and operating system was used. That data is aggregated — we see visit counts per page, not individual visitors, and we cannot link a visit to a person or follow it across other websites.
If you send us an email, we of course process what you write to us: your name, your email address and the content of your message. We use those to answer your question and for nothing else.
III. What do we use this data for
For usage measurement we rely on our legitimate interest: knowing which pages are read, so that we can improve the site. Because the measurement is cookieless and builds no personal profiles, the impact on your privacy is minimal. For the email you send us, the lawful basis is your own request for contact.
IV. How long do we keep your data
The usage data from the measurement service remains available for twelve months. We keep email correspondence for as long as it is relevant to your question or to our engagement; after that we delete it.
V. Who do we share your data with
We do as little as possible with your data ourselves, and work with as few parties as possible:
- Hosting and usage measurement: Vercel Inc., a Delaware corporation established in the United States. The site runs with this party with Paris as its primary region and is delivered through their worldwide network; the cookieless usage measurement runs through the same service. Because this is a US party, data may be processed outside the European Economic Area; a data processing agreement has been concluded with them for that purpose.
- Email: your message reaches our email provider, Microsoft (Microsoft 365).
There are no other parties. We do not sell data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we use no advertising or tracking services.
VI. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have a number of rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access to the data we process about you
- Right to rectification of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”)
- Right to restrict processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to object to processing
- Right to withdraw consent previously given
You can exercise these rights by mailing hello@groundbase.be. We respond within thirty days.
If you believe we have not respected your rights correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority:
Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit
Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels

VII. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Access to personal data is limited to what is strictly necessary for the operation of Groundbase.
VIII. Changes to this policy
This privacy policy may be updated. Changes are published on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
Cookie policy
Last updated: 16 August 2026
This site sets no cookies.
No functional cookies, no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies. That is also why you see no consent banner here: there is nothing to ask consent for. Your language choice sits in the URL, not in a cookie, and the usage measurement works without cookies or any other data stored on your device.
Should that ever change — because we add a form or an embedded service that does set cookies — we will update this page and ask for your consent before such a cookie is placed.
