A GEO audit assesses to what extent a page or website is optimised for visibility in AI answers. Five dimensions, each with concrete checkpoints.
Dimension 1: Content structure
- Does the page answer a specific, recognisable user question?
- Is the direct answer in the first paragraph?
- Are subheadings phrased as questions or clear answer indicators?
- Does the page contain an FAQ section with explicit question-answer pairs?
- Are core messages explicitly formulated?
Dimension 2: Entity clarity
- Is the brand name consistently named throughout the content?
- Are product names and categories consistent and unambiguous?
- Are there sameAs links connecting the entity with external data sources?
Dimension 3: Structured data
- FAQPage schema present where relevant?
- Organization/Corporation schema on homepage and about us?
- Product pages provided with the correct sector schema (Product, FinancialProduct, MedicalEntity, LocalBusiness, Service…)?
- Blog articles provided with Article schema including author information?
- All schemas correctly validated via Google’s Rich Results Test?
Dimension 4: Authority and E-E-A-T
- Author information present on content pages?
- External sources cited where applicable?
- Publication date and update date visible?
- Brand present on external authority platforms?
Dimension 5: Technical accessibility
- Load time under 3 seconds on mobile?
- No indexing errors in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools?
- Correct robots.txt?
- Canonical tags correctly set?
- Internal link structure logical and consistent?
